About

Director of Dru Australia

Andrew Wells has literally traveled the world as much respected presenter and workshop leader training people in whole-person approaches to health, self-empowerment and the healing of emotional trauma.

He has been teaching Dru yoga and Dru meditation for over 15 years throughout 30 countries on 5 different continents. Andrew is a visionary author and yoga columnist plus lecturer and website author on climate change.

In his current role of Director of Dru Australia he travels the nation teaching the premise that yoga and meditation can be learned by anyone of any age or ability. He teaches how to incorporate time-honoured yogic techniques into the modern lifestyle so that any person can lead a happy, healthy and successful life.

As a peacemaker, Andrew has ventured into war-torn countries teaching practical techniques that allow people to heal their emotional trauma. The self help techniques he has used have been easily grasped and sustained, regardless of cultural, religious or political influences. When Andrew has left a country, his “diplomacy of the heart” has stayed on, helping to heal deep-seated wounds which, when left unchecked, have often lead to renewed conflicts.

Andrew has co-authored the books The Flame that Transforms (about the World Peace Flame) and A Call to Action (a plea for sustainable global social change). He has authored a number of videos, and audio products on self-help approaches to personal empowerment and healing emotional pain and on meditation.

Amongst his many current projects Andrew is now writing a meditation correspondence course with the aim of providing up-to-date theory and practical techniques that encompass a wide variety of meditation topics including: overcoming stress, building self esteem, boosting emotional intelligence and brainpower and also exploring the quantum field and goal setting.

Andrew has been the International Projects Manager for the Holland-based Life Foundation International and has also worked with the Quakers at their U.N. headquarters in New York and as a Quaker peace worker in Tasmania. He worked with the Community Mediation Centre in Virginia, USA and has trained U.N. therapists in Bosnia and Bangladesh, the Red Cross and other non-governmental organizations. In 1999 he trained facilitators of a county-wide detraumatisation and peace-building training programme within war-torn South Sudan, worked to bring reconciliation and healing to Bosnian refugees on behalf of the UNHCR (UN High Commission for Refugees), as well as training U.N. and NGO staff in South Asia, East Africa and Europe.

Andrew welcomes comments and ideas and would be happy to hear from you.
